Recreating emblems, logos, and other elements of the game was a great way to pass a few hours, especially when I had to do research to figure out what those four pixels meant. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fortunately, when recreating the<a href=\"https:\/\/fallout-archive.fandom.com\/wiki\/File:Fo2_NCR_Seal.png\"> emblem of the New California Republic<\/a> in 2013 I had more pixels to work with!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cossys.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/Fo2_NCR_Seal.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-182\" width=\"474\" height=\"474\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>It was a fairly easy piece of work, as the design of the emblem was shown multiple times on the town map, superimposed on a modified 1944 <a href=\"https:\/\/americanhistory.si.edu\/collections\/search\/object\/nmah_443958\">Army recruitment poster<\/a>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cossys.net\/den\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/Fo2_NCR_Map.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-183\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>However, this image lacked colors and I remembered that there <em>were<\/em> colors provided for the emblem somewhere in the game. After quickly checking the scenery FRMs, I figured out where I saw the colors:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cossys.net\/den\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/unknown-1024x577.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-184\" width=\"617\" height=\"347\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>NCR propaganda posters found at New Reno, the future member of the federation under the Bishops, showed it clearly: The New California Republic used colors inspired by the flag of the old California Republic, though the hue of the solid color fill was slightly darker.
